Friday

Travel

The site will be open to Patrols and their equipment to arrive between 17.00 and 20.00.

Late Arrivals

If any Patrol members are unable to arrive before 20.00 on the Friday, this must be agreed with the camp leader in advance to ensure eligibility for trophies. This requirement will be waived in the case of circumstances which could not reasonably have been foreseen, e.g. unexpected road closures.

Vehicles

To ensure the safety of the Scouts on the camping area, no vehicles will be allowed onto the camping field. They must be parked in accordance with instructions given by the camp staff.

Registration

Once all members of the Patrol have arrived, they are to report to the registration table. A site number will be allocated on registration.

Menus

Patrols are required to hand in a menu at registration. The menu should include all meals (and drinks) planned for the weekend, including all three courses for Saturday evening.

Uniform Inspection

Immediately after registering, a uniform inspection will be undertaken, with points counting towards the main competition.

Transferring Equipment to Site

Adults may assist the Patrol in transporting equipment to their allotted site on arrival, but must be clear of the site before the Patrol begins to set up camp.

Setting Up Camp

The remainder of Friday evening should be spent setting up camp. Patrol campsites will be approximately 20 metres x 14 metres and will be marked out with string at ground level.

Patrol Leaders' Briefing

During the PL's briefing (see timetable), the APL should take charge of the Patrol while they continue to set up camp.
