Meet the Emlyn Team

Jon's first Emlyn was in 1989 and three years later he led his Patrol to win the competition. The leadership and teamwork skills he learned along the way are now put to use to organise the event with the support of a fantastic team of hardworking volunteers.

Richard won the Special Projects Trophy in the 2002 competition and has been part of the Emyln Team ever since. First starting on the judging team and then taking on the Assistant Camp Leader role. You will meet Simpson at registration and will make sure you're happy over the weekend.

Rob was a competitor at Emlyn for several years and was a winning Patrol Leader in 2009. Having judged at Emlyn since, he is now Head of Judging. He is responsible for the judging team and ensuring it executed fairly and constructively for the teams to learn and improve.

Greg is the lead for the admin team who moderate and manage the scores as they are entered by the Judges. Greg started scouting as a Cub and has been an active Scout Leader since he was 18. The current scoring team have been in place for 11 years and always enjoy supporting the teams from behind the scenes.

Russ is our Safety man. He will be around if you need any assistance with any of your equipment or to help make any of it safe if he thinks it requires some attention. Russ is also a Judge but he treats these 2 roles completely separately so don't worry about asking any safety questions to him.

Guy is the lead for the service and Support ensuring all those odd jobs are done behind the scenes. Having been involved in Scouting since Beavers and competed at Emlyn, now becoming a leader within the County, it's a great opportunity to be involved again with the wider county and team.

Joe comes with a wealth of First Aid knowledge. Joe has been in scouting all this life, which helped shape his career within the Police, Search and Rescue, and his current role as an Ambulance Practitioner. 

Soraya is Joe's Wife, and she also used to volunteer with Search and Rescue. Soraya brings a lot of first aid experience with her too.

As well as being a Judge, John looks after Emlyn's social media side. You will often see him in the field taking photos, so be sure to give him your biggest smile!
